Mary Farrell is a chef, having worked in the industry for over 25 years, including in France, Holland & Australia in the 1990s. She completed her MA in UCD in political theory on her return to Ireland, before opening her own food business, with two outlets in Dublin for almost 15 years. During that time Mary wrote a cookbook, designed and taught cookery courses for 12 years, trained as a nutritional therapist, and worked with enterprise boards on food product development.
Mary’s main area of interest is in health and nutrition, with particular emphasis on the development of food products for the retail supermarket space. She currently works as the executive head chef in a food production kitchen where she is developing their take home meal offering. She is also undertaking a PhD in DIT, in Culinary Arts.
