Jade French

Jade French is a second-year PhD candidate at Queen Mary, University of London. Her research explores the poetics of female ageing in modernist texts, with a specific focus on the late works of H.D, Mina Loy, and Djuna Barnes. She is also interested in applying cultural gerontological theories in a modernist context, looking at embodiment, life-courses and late style.

She edited and produced the book Let’s Start A Pussy Riot (2013) with artist Emely Neu and Rough Trade Records, from which she has lectured internationally on the subject of feminism and DIY protest. She is the co-founder of the London-based academic/arts collective Liminal Spaces, which tackles issues of mental health and interdisciplinary modes in academia.
